Morph Description The eclipse trait is a recessive eye mutation that causes the pigment in the eyes to be solid black, or in many cases partially black. The term 'snake eyes' refers to an animal that has only half 'eclipse' eyes. Regardless of the amount of black pigment in the eye of a parent, the eclipse mutation is randomly passed on to offspring and the amount of black pigment cannot be pre determined.
